Hi - just found your site, I have had my BPD site up for 4 years now and there still aren't that many in the UK. 
 
Just a couple of comments -  
Emma - in your writing above, the term is "Emotional Lability" not liability! 
 
Angela, Yes people with BPD can and do "recover", in that we can get to a stage where we are able to better handle the mood swings and become more aware of the errors in our thinking and reasoning. 
 
Sadly the stigma around BPD is still very great and many social services departments will overreact.
